Membership has grown to over 200 artists and supporters of the arts from this area. Its activities include numerous exhibits throughout the year, frequent programs at the Girl Scout House Leahey Gallery as well as the outdoor show and sale. The public is invited to all SAA events without charge unless otherwise indicated. Show themes are intended to spur on the artist to show his or her approach to an idea. Have fun. You need not be strictly on theme to exhibit. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORSHOLIDAY RECEPTION AND SHOP AND SWAP - SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16Shop and Swap Table -- Looking for a last minute gift? Do you have an item/s you want to sell... cards, prints etc? Want to get rid of those frames you can't use? The mat cutter? The easel? The portfolio case? Perhaps it's just what someone else has been thinking of getting. The Shop and Swap Table makes it easy for artists to make sales or exchanges. Just bring in your stuff with your name attached, set your terms and look around for what you might need. Non art-related items welcome. Swap and Shop is at the reception. Lorie Gurian - received third place in oil for "Provence" at the White Plains Woman's Club Annual Art Exhibition in October.
Vivian Bergenthal - received a first place prize in mixed media for her painting "Dutch Gardens" at the Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club of Rye/Beaux Arts exhibition, September 29-30.
Erna Brout - was awarded First Prize in Pastels and First Prize in Portraits at the White Plains Women's Club Beaux Arts Show - October 22-26th . At the Pleasantville Woman's Club Beaux Arts Exhibit she won a First and Second Place Award in pastels and a Third Place in portraits - November 3-10.
Linda Lovinger-Siegel - will be showing two works at the Small Rays of Hope and Fragments of a Larger Idea Exhibition at the Rhonda Schaller Studio, 547 West 27th Street, Suite 529, New York, NY, from December 6 to December 20, 2007. An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, December 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
Charlotte Klein - is exhibiting at Council for the Arts "Wrap It Up" show, November 8 - December 15, and Mount Vernon Library, November 15 - December 18. She also won 2 nd place in the New Rochelle Art Association annual juried exhibit in September in mixed media.
Rosalind Morrissey - will have a solo show of her paintings displayed at the Fitzgerald Gallery of the Warner Library in Tarrytown from December 4 to the 28th. The library, located at 121 North Broadway, is open every day. For exact hours, call (914) 631-7734.
Jerry Leventhal - won Third Place in acrylics at the White Plains Beaux Arts show. It was held October 23-27.
Hope Friedland - received an award for her "Hot House Orchid" a watercolor on exhibit in the "Nature & Art" Exhibition at the Greenwich Education Center in Cos Cob, CT. The exhibit was sponsored by the Greenwich Art Society.
Maria de Echevarria - will be having a solo show "Recent Works" at the 2/20 Gallery, 220 West 16 th Street, from November 27th -December 11th . Reception is Thursday, Nov 29th and Saturday December 1st 5-8pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Sunday, 2-7pm. 212-807-8348.
Jerry Leventhal - won an Honorable Mention in photography at the Pleasantville Beaux Arts show held November 8-10.
Hank Rondina - received The Christine Jones Morocco Award at the 89 Annual Exhibition of the American Society of Contemporary Artists. The exhibit took place at the Broome Street Gallery, NYC.

All new members join the SAA as Associate Members. A jurying panel is convened twice a year for those wishing to be Artist Members. Membership is not restricted to residents of Scarsdale.
The jurying process requires the submission of three works in the same medium. Only Artist Members are eligible for the Annual Awards Show.

The Leahey Gallery, named after SAA's Jeannette Leahey, an award-winning artist and benefactor, is located at the Girl Scout House on Wayside Lane, 2/10 mile west of Post Road (Route 22) in Scarsdale, New York.
Take the Bronx River Parkway to Exit 12, Crane Road. Leaving the Parkway, follow signage to Crane Road and proceed on Crane to Route 22, Post Road. Turn left (North) one block on Post Road to Wayside. Turn left on Wayside, proceed 2/10 mile to the Girl Scout House on the right.
